I've been bad, and not in the normal way. I meant to do an epic three-day weekend stitch fest. But I didn't. Instead I frolicked at the beach and had an amazing three day weekend. :)
I'll try to have something to show for next week. It's going to be a little iffy since I'm going out of town Friday night and I'm (finally) doing that photo shoot Sunday. We'll see what happens!
Sorry for being a stitchy disappointment. Happy stitching all!

Shoes!
So I have a shoe problem, in that I can't stop buying them. And I've done it again. Terrible. But delicious.

My Stash
First and foremost I want to thank you all for the wonderful and kind comments you've all left. Please know that they are absolutely heartwarming, inspiring, and very much appreciated. Thank you!
I've been working on College of Magical Knowledge this weekend, which has been progressing faster than I thought it would! It's really rather encouraging, considering I haven't had a lot of time to work on it. My weekends are getting busier and busier. I still live in the town where I went to college. I graduated a few years ago and work in the next town over. However, towards the end of August I've decided to make a big change and move. As such, I've been making more and more efforts to see the friends I have here before I go and spend as much time with them as possible. This means less time for stitching, which is ok. With that said, a before and after of about a day and a half of progress.

I think that's not too bad all things considered.
Now, I'm going to share a little bit of my stash with you guys. Just a few works that I got for Christmas a few years ago that started me on HAED. I'll show more of my stash with time, but there's so much of it that having it all in one post would be overwhelming, and would make me look like a crazy person.

Dragoness by Jessica Galbreth
Renaissance Rose by Jessica Galbreth
Nightfall by Jessica Galbreth
Serenity by Jessica Galbreth
Those along with Dark Queen and Mystic Mermaid (as seen on the left) were given to me for Christmas. They began the downward spiral towards madness.
Until next week, happy stitching!

I did a bad thing
I started another project. I know, I'm terrible. But those little dragons were calling me! So I started Medieval Shelf. I haven't gotten much done on it, only about 700 stitches. But there's a little bit there and it's easier to stitch than College (which I'm going back to this week).
Stitched on 25 count evenweave, 1 over 1.
The weather today was gorgeous. Gorgeous by my standards, anyway. We had an actual thunderstorm, which is rare in this part of California. I love thunderstorms.
Until next week, then!

A Weekend of Firsts
My stitching mojo has subsided somewhat, but that's ok. I worked on Mario for a little while and got a fair amount done. But before I show the progress I would just like to say that I'm scrapping my "goals." I've been doing a lot of thinking (about a lot of things) and I realized that stitching, for me, isn't about goals. It's about the sheer pleasure of the stitch. Yes, finishing a piece is an exhilarating feeling, but what good is it if you don't meet your goal and are only overcome with frustration? So there. I'm scrapping "goals."
With that in mind, here is my progress.

Like I said, the stitching mojo isn't as strong, but you can still see some progress.
Now about the title of this post, it has been an interesting weekend. I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time (an interesting experience, but not a bad one) and then, horror of horrors, I got my hair permed. It was my first perm and my first professional chemical treatment of any kind. I'd only ever done at-home coloring and not for many many years now. So I took the plunge and got a body wave perm. It looks ok so far. I haven't been able to do anything with it since you can't wash/style/wet your hair for a while after but come tomorrow I'll have a better idea. I'm surprised it even took considering my hair is made of evil and doesn't hold a curl, but we'll see if it stays in.
On that note, a photographer friend of mine has been trying to convince me for quite a while to do a photo shoot with him. I keep agreeing and then cancelling but I've now agreed (yet again) to do it at the beginning of June. I might actually go through with it this time. But we'll see. I'm a chicken.
Alright, that's it for this week. Happy stitching everyone and remember, every stitch brings you closer.

College, Page 2!
Happy May!
I'm going to be quite honest. I cannot BELIEVE that I finished page 2. Now that I look back to where I was, it was a rather ambitious endeavor. But, I did it!
Before:
After:
Comparing the two, I really can't believe it. BUT, it's done! I need to take a break from College now, however, and work on Mario lest the confetti exhausts me.
May Goals:
Mario - 2 pages
College - 1 page
We'll see how I do... but I'm not optimistic.
Until next week, happy stitching!
