IHSW - July results!

It was a pretty low-key weekend, which was nice and meant that I got plenty of stitching in as a hermit. Here are the results!

Before:

After:

I finished all the 939 and have only three columns of 310 left! Not sure what color I'm going to go with after, but I'm thinking maybe a bright one to get some happiness in with all those dark colors. We'll see. Either way, I'm pretty happy with the results and have only about 3000 stitches left on this page. Yes!! Whenever I get to the end of the page I get extra motivated. Hopefully time will allow for this motivation to come to fruition.

In other news, I have to learn to drive stick in preparation for Iceland. Since we're going to be driving the Ring Road around the island, I don't want Boyfriend to have to drive the entire distance (about 832 miles), even though he's perfectly alright with it. So today, we borrowed a manual and Boyfriend began the arduous task of teaching me stick. Let me just put it this way: he has the patience of a Saint and believes in positive reinforcement. More lessons will be required, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it (read: I can't believe he hasn't killed me yet).

As always, thank you for all your kind comments. It's a pleasure reading them! I was actually expecting everyone to say they got their charts large chart format and was surprised to learn that isn't so! I will be steering clear of the HAED sale but wish you all the best!

Wow, that's some VERY nice progress! At this rate, you'll soon be out of the shrubbery. :)

Good progress and good on you for learning how to drive stick- something I have been avoiding since I got my license 12 years ago

You did a lot, and i know what you mean with the colors, i'm stitching with 939 and 310 also on this moment and love to have another color in my needle.
But it gives a very good reward after it's finished so stitch along and i love to see the next update soon.

Hugs Yvon.

The tree is coming to life before our eyes! You are much stronger than I, how can you resist a sale?

Congratulations on your progress, theres a massive difference! And well done for resisting the sale, I did as well, I'm very proud of myself.

How's your driving going? I'm learning at the moment, and it turns out that I'm terrible!

Ewa, that's awesome progress!!! Your tree is looking so great.

Good luck with the stick. I learnt driving that way, the hardest thing to get used to is the clutch, huh?

You were moving this weekend! Your work is so pretty, I love your project. A stick is really easy, just believe in yourself, you can do it! I had to learn on a stick before my parents would ever let me drive, that way I would always be able to drive anything! Stopping and starting back again on a hill is the hardest thing to accomplish.

Congratulations on your progress.. The difference is amazing, and I can't wait to see some more colours in it I bet it will be amazing;)

Awesome progress Ewa! I would go with a bright colour next just to pick it up a bit and maybe it will make you stitch more just out of the fun of a vivid colour. Anyhoo it's looking great you've done so much already, congratulations xo

"stick" is a gear-stick, rather than an automatic? Virtually everyone here drives with gears, it's generally only the elderly or disabled who have automatics!

My ex-MIL used to say she liked the gear-stick because "it gives me something to fiddle with when I'm driving". Only slightly worrying!!

Your stitching is really progressing, I'd definitely do a bright colour next.
