My stitching mojo has subsided somewhat, but that's ok. I worked on Mario for a little while and got a fair amount done. But before I show the progress I would just like to say that I'm scrapping my "goals." I've been doing a lot of thinking (about a lot of things) and I realized that stitching, for me, isn't about goals. It's about the sheer pleasure of the stitch. Yes, finishing a piece is an exhilarating feeling, but what good is it if you don't meet your goal and are only overcome with frustration? So there. I'm scrapping "goals."
With that in mind, here is my progress.

Like I said, the stitching mojo isn't as strong, but you can still see some progress.
Now about the title of this post, it has been an interesting weekend. I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time (an interesting experience, but not a bad one) and then, horror of horrors, I got my hair permed. It was my first perm and my first professional chemical treatment of any kind. I'd only ever done at-home coloring and not for many many years now. So I took the plunge and got a body wave perm. It looks ok so far. I haven't been able to do anything with it since you can't wash/style/wet your hair for a while after but come tomorrow I'll have a better idea. I'm surprised it even took considering my hair is made of evil and doesn't hold a curl, but we'll see if it stays in.
On that note, a photographer friend of mine has been trying to convince me for quite a while to do a photo shoot with him. I keep agreeing and then cancelling but I've now agreed (yet again) to do it at the beginning of June. I might actually go through with it this time. But we'll see. I'm a chicken.
Alright, that's it for this week. Happy stitching everyone and remember, every stitch brings you closer.

Wise decision, Ewa! goals are just there for fun, not for frustration. is this decision has something to do with your growing list of kitted projects ;)?
Wow! your first ever perm! Hope you'll like it. When I was 15, my mum made me have one. it was a dreadful experience.
I'm sure the photo shooting will be a very interesting experience!
Mario starts showing some of his face, great!
Haha yes, admittedly it does have something to do with the kitted projects. But also, if I want to be doing one thing and I'm forcing myself to do something else, I won't be enjoying it as much. So why not just do the something else? There's no deadlines. And even if I'm making it as a gift, I can give it next Christmas, not this Christmas. It will be just as special without driving me crazy.
So far the perm was a good experience, except for having taken 3 hours. It looks nice, though, so worth the agony. :)
Wow your wips are amazing. Awesome charts you have in your stash as well. I love spanglers work. Congratulations on a magnificient finish for Magnificient Wizard. xo Alicia
Aww, thanks so much! My stash is actually a WHOLE lot bigger than what you see on the left. Those are just the ones I have kitted. Can't wait to start them. So tempting...
Hi, returning the following. I spotted your cute dragon avatar on another blog and meant to check it out. I love dragons too (see my photo album!).
Looking forward to seeing Treasure Quest started.
Thanks, Jo! I'm a tidbit obsessed with dragons :) I have a whole collection in the form of figurines, puzzles, cross stitches, etc. Treasure Quest - COMING SOON!... I hope....
Ewe this is so impressive! To be able to do this must take such patience and precision. Can't wait to watch as you progress!
