College, Middle Earth, Boyfriend, and more! (long post)

I'll start with Boyfriend. Yesterday was Boyfriend's Birthday! We had a really nice day - breakfast at the Two Bird Cafe in San Geronimo, a day of watching Burn Notice and cuddles, followed by a nice dinner and cake! All in all a lovely day. So Happy Birthday, Boyfriend!

While at Boyfriend's I stitched madly on College but, alas, was unable to finish Page 8. That's ok, I know I'm doing my best. So here goes.

I would center the chart info, but blogger just left aligns it anyway so what's the point? I'm having a hard time seeing the picture that's going to emerge. While I'm stitching it it just looks like a blob. But I guess it's coming together.

When I got home today, besides getting locked out and getting a mani/pedi because I had nothing better to do, I finished my Middle Earth rotation,

I've decided to go back to Mario for the next 10 hours. Mario is my oldest WIP and I'm eager to get him done. So back and forth it will go... for as long as I can stand it.

Next up, I was shocked to see that you guys liked The Empress more than The Lovers! I was convinced that lovers would win but apparently not! So I'll be adding The Empress to my rotation. Got all my floss, just gotta wind it on some bobbins and get started!

Speaking of floss, when I got home today there was a package waiting for me on my bed from Lesli (The Fabulous Frogger). Naturally curious, I opened it up and what did I find? A very pretty card with a lovely sentiment and FLOSS! The floss I need for Mario that I had just run out of and the LNS didn't have, either!

Thank you so much, Lesli! I will certainly make good use of this! Mario doesn't have white - all the clouds and checkered floor are all 3823 - a yellowish cream color. I'm most definitely going to use most, if not all, of the floss you see in that bag before I'm done with Mario!

And with that, I think I'm going to call it a night. Boyfriend and I had a busy day today - after we woke up, showered, breakfasted, etc. we went to Nordstrom's to get him some dress shirts and a tie with his birthday money for interviews and a wedding we were invited to. Everything went well, we got home, unwrapped one of the shirts (the other was undone since he had tried it on) and noticed a stain! Yikes! So back in the car, off to Nordstrom's again to do an exchange. It wasn't a problem, just some driving. Then I had to hop in the car again and, with traffic, two hours later I ended up at home - only to find out that I had left my keys at Boyfriend's. Awesome. So, with nothing better to do, I got my first pedicure of the season while I waited for my parents to get home from work. I believe in being proactive - hehe.

Everyone be sure to sign up for the IHSW over at Joyce's blog - or click the little hermit crab in my sidebar. If you've never joined - now is the perfect time! Happy hermitting! I hope to be back with an update on at least Mario and hopefully Mario and Greek Mandala.

They both look incredible, such beautiful progress, and you can see knowledge coming together, it's always difficlt to see the progress when you're the one working on it!
Sounds like you've had fun recently!

Hello Ewa,
Thank you for visiting my blog. I am very impressed by your stitching. All your designs are so different to my choices I was amazed at the progress your make over such short intervals. You’re right about the Chatelaine, as you progress it does look better. Boyfriend’s birthday sounded good. I have had a lovely time reading back on your blog and love those monthly commitments, hope your weight loss continues. Well done!
Happy stitching
Chris xx

Wow Ewa. Great progress on both pieces. I love College of Knowledge. In fact, I love alot of the HAED's, but I can only stitch on 14ct aida and it would be way to big on that count. My other favorite is Faery Tales. Well, I got my version - both of them in jigsaw puzzle form. Can't wait to start one.

Your progress on College is outstanding! Page 8 is nearly done...I can barely see any fabric :)
So happy you two enjoyed a wonderful day for your boyfriend's birthday...aren't days like that THE BEST!?
I have to hide your Middle Earth progress from my husband, he happened by my laptop a few weeks ago while I was looking at it and he said, "I want you to stitch THAT next!" I looked at him...then pointed to my piles of stash...he quietly walked away.
You're very welcome for the floss ...I know I HATE when the stores don't have the color I need, so I wanted to help out!
Have a fantabulous stitchy weekend!

You got a lot done on College! A page finish isn't all that far away. :) The picture will come together once you add some more colours - I can already see the roof of thst tower and a window (I think).

Glad to hear you had a good time. :)

That's some nice progress on Middle Earth, looking forward to seeing Mario (and possible also Greek Mandala) after this weekend.

OMG Ewa I felt exhausted after reading this post! I love how you faced you're frustration at being locked out by getting a mani/pedi that's the only way to deal with a setback - put a positive spin on it. Good work stunner!! LOL!

Fantastic progress on your wips esp College. I take it you're still sticking to the 10 hourly rotation. It seems to be working for you.

I'm so sorry I missed the post about Empresss and Lovers - cos I would have picked Lovers (damn nightshifts really throws my blog stalking out the window!) But I've seen a wip of Empress and she looks amazing - so all good!
Happy stitching stunner and Happy belated birthday to BF xo
