WIPocalypse, the twelfth coming

Looks like I'm not going to finish any of my pieces before the end of the world. Oh well! I guess that's what's called the stitcher's dilemma or some such thing. I got a little progress though, so here goes.

Riding the Wave before WIPocalypse:

Last WIPocalypse:

Now:

And the only reason I got anything else done was because the Middle Earf SAL happens every month.

Before WIPocalypse:

Last WIPocalypse:

Now:

I'm pretty happy with the progress I'm not going to lie, especially since it's the last week of school right now so everything is due. I did complete one of three classes today, so just two left! Turned in the final project for one and just have a presentation and final exam left in that one, and a group project, small assignment, and case study post for another and that's it! Freedom for a month and a half to video game until my brain leaks out my ears and stitch until I can't see straight.

Speaking of stitching, you won't see much more here until after Christmas (BOOOOO) because I'm doing secret stitching for Handsome Helpful Boyfriend who is also a Hero because he has let me do my secret stitching while in the same room as he is so I can watch him play Skyrim and he hasn't peeked one bit. Nope, not one bit. I am also told to let you all know that you're more than welcome to send him plenty of Christmas presents this year since he's so Handsome and Helpful and such a good Boyfriend.

On another note, I want to do a small giveaway - especially for those of you who have made it this far. To be honest I don't even know what will be included in it yet so here are the rules:

1. Comment on this post with the following information:
2. Your favorite song or piece of music. HHB and I like all sorts of music, particularly classical (in my case) and jazz (in his case) and we're always looking for more stuff to listen to;
3. What kind of stitchy stuff is your favorite stuff to stash. Is it fabric? Threads? Silks? Beads? Dreaded metallics? Embellishments? This will most definitely influence the contents of the giveaway; and
4. INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. Sometimes people pose questions to me in the comments section and I can't respond via email because there's a "noreply" address in the field. SAD FACE.

Enter by December 14th and I will ship international so have fun.

Last time I got a question about my gridding thread - do I like the fishing line or not. I like it. I don't have a problem with it leaving marks, mostly because of my stitching style. I use a LOT of tension when I stitch and I think that keeps the line from making the holes bigger, for some reason. Also, the way I run my needle under the fabric has something to do with it, too. I think.

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen (are there any gentlemen?). Hope you've enjoyed and hope you have a great night.

I love bad 80's rock.
My stash is made up out of mostly HAED charts.

I'll give your HHB the same thing I tell my DH I'm going to give him 'a doller drum and a kick up the bum'
Have a great holiday:)

I think the progress you have made is a lot.

Ok music. I like rock. Things like Nickelback. Prime Circle (a home based band!), Daughtry and even a bit heavier like the band Cold (who no longer is a band).
The stash part is a bit more difficult. I would love fabric as I always drool at all the hand dyes but I'm not fussy about using plain white either. I prefer stitching on 14count due to my eyes but I am on the hunt for 16 count to start my first HAED. My email is MoniqueLHinze@gmail.com
Thank you for the opportunity to enter your giveaway.

Your boyfriend definitely sounds like a keeper!

I would love to enter the giveaway please.
1 Favourite music is pretty much anything by Meat Loaf with a close second being Whitesnake.
2 Favourite stash at the moment is definitely fabric after having discovered stephysfabrics.com but I also like non silk threads too.
3 Email is sharonjstevens@msn.com but there is a link in my profile too.

Thank you for the chance to win the giveaway and good luck to everyone!!

Ewa ... Your stitchings are amazing! How nice that HHB lets your stitch for him but he does not peek : ) I wanted to knit a small throw for my husband but he's ALWAYS here & he certainly wouldn't be able to pretend not to notice me knitting a throw : ( I would love to enter your giveaway please. I enjoy a variety of music but right off the top of my head I'd say I like just about anything from Andre Rieu. I especially enjoy soft, quiet piano music. My favorite stitchy stuff to stash? I'd have to say Just Another Button Company buttons, also silk & wool threads : )

3. What kind of stitchy stuff is your favorite stuff to stash. HAED charts and thread!

First of all, your stitcing is amazing! That's a ton of progress in my book.
I'd love to be entered in your contest...thanks!
I also like all kinds of music, but my favorite would have to be Oldies, from the 60's (when I was growing up). I recently went to see the Monkees reunion. So sad the Davy Jones wasn't there!
My favorite thing to stash is overdyed/sparkly fabric. I've been stitching for 30-some years, and this fancy fabric is new to me. I LOVE it!! I also like adding charms to the stitching.
My email is AnnieB63@aol.com.
Thanks again:)

Fantastic progress, they look wonderful.
I'd love to be entered in your giveaway .
My favourite music would be a Scottish band called Runrig their early music was awesome (they changed lead singer a few years ago and the new guy doesn't have the same rich voice, so the early years are definitely worth checking out! Ooops, sorry for rambling on a bit there!!) As for stash, well anything really, I've never used hand dyed fabric, so that would certainly be something I'd love to try. My email is TangledThreadsStitching@yahoo.com

Thanks so much!

Ewa ... great work. It's nice to see such progress knowing how busy you are. I will admit that I miss seeing an update on College.

Some of my favourite music right now is by Mumford & Sons. They just released a new album in the past month or so. They're kind of rock/folkie ... to be honest, any music with an upright bass in it usually grabs my attention.

I'm a fabric and silk thread kind of girl. I've recently started hand-dyeing my own fabric, but still have a lot to learn. I just love the pretty colours though! And I adrore stitching with silk (particularly HDF and Carrie's Creations)! It just feels so nice in my hands and it works up slendidly.

Lots of progress this past month, especially since you're spending a good amount of time focusing on the dreaded 6-letter word (school)

Love your giveaway questions!

1. Comment placed
2. The Chevin (hubby's new love, which I enjoy as well..though right now I'm partial to the holiday tunes) and after that, it's a mash-up of 80's, 90's, current and show tunes (yes, show tunes!)
3. My favorite stuff to stash...oh my gosh....can a person choose just one? My #1 has to be fabric :) (you sooo knew that already!) I think because fabric isn't as easy to come by in local shops where I live

Great progress on all your pieces Ewa. I would love to be entered in your giveaway.
2. I love upbeat Christmas songs (cause its the season). I love rock and roll from the 50's and 60's.
3. I would say I hoard charts, magazines and kits. Wish I had buttons, etc., because so many designs call for them.
4. bengalcatlover10@yahoo.com

Thanks, Linda

Ewa!!! Glad I'm catching up on my posts today! I've been a wee bit busy too, but now that reports are done, I've got a little bit of time for fun stuff. Great progress on all your WIP's! I can't wait to see your secret stitching!!

Hmmm, favourite music is always hard for me to answer. I listen to a lot of various kinds of music...including classical. But I would have to say that what I have been replaying a lot is The XX's Angel. I love the Brother remix especially.

Stitchy stuff....anything really. Although I do adore fabric and threads!!

You have my email :D

Hugs!

Great post Ewa. You're going really well with all your stitching. Does HHB have a brother??? Hee hee

Well just recently been to the Matchbox 20 concert so I'm still buzzing from that as they were awesome live! But I have a very eclectic taste in music.

Favourite things to stash other than charts, is basically anything that sparkles. Mostly fabric but love brilliant threads too.

Handsome Helpful Boyfriend is funny! I am so happy to hear that he is so helpful!
I enjoy 80's music, horrible I know, but I am a gluten for punishment!
I love fabric and threads actually. My fabric choice is anything 20 ct and lower. My eyes can't take anything smaller than that.

Thank you for doing this!

Great giveaway questions - answers below:

1. comment done (almost)!

Firstly, I'm stealing your question for a later date!!
I'm also a fan of Metal and Rock but for you I'd recommend Barclay James Havest - the Live from Berlin album. I really love that one and it's a little more mellow and uplifting than many others in my collection.
Currently I'm stashing fabrics! I love the sparkly stuff and paler colours in particular. Madly patterned hand-dyes scare me LOL.
I'm trying to build a library of colours in 28 or 32 count so I always have the perfect shade.
Has the little gifty for the HHB arrived yet?
