Greek "Thread Spread"

Ok not thread spread but floss toss. But Boyfriend asked me about my "thread spread" earlier and I couldn't resist.

Today I received my last package of threads for the Greek Mandala and I can't help but share:

Gloriana Silks:

Caron Collections Waterlilies and Dinky Dyes Perle:

Thread Gatherer Silk n'Colors:

Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid SPARKLY!:

DMC Cotton:

Delica beads and Swarovski crystals:

All of it pictured on the piece of 32-count white Belfast. I think Heli and I, from Heli's Stitchery, are going to try to start our first large Chatelaine's together. She is still waiting for her threads and fibers to arrive, and that will give me time to sort things out and set it up - preparing it for stitchery. Hopefully my busy little fingers can help themselves and keep me from stitching it.

For IHSW this weekend I will be stitching on Middle Earf, as Boyfriend has picked it. I've been working on it a bit since the last update on it, so I'll post a before and after.

After:

I've started labeling my stitching with my name and date because I've learned, from the HAED BB, that some people have been using other people's WIPs, etc. for the reward program and/or as their own work. Wishing to avoid that, I've added a little typing on the side - hope it doesn't bother too much.

Have a great IHSW, everyone! You can still sign up, just by clicking the little hermit crab on the right.

Lovely threads - they looks so yummy and gorgeous. I cannot believe that people would post pics of other people' s work just to receive rewards. How low is that and where is their pride?

Awesome progress on Middle Earth.

Hugs, Kaye xoxox

Love love love the colours!! Beautiful progress as well.

Like the poster above me I am astonished to hear that some are willing to steal other people's work like that! Maybe I should start labelling my pics too...

Seeing your floss toss makes me even more impatient waiting for my kit to arrive... ECC hasn't even sent it yet, so it's going to be a while! If you get tired of waiting at some point, just go ahead and start yours as I still have no idea when that kit of mine will be shipped, could be days, weeks, months - okay maybe not months, but still might take long. And when they've shipped it I'll still have to wait for it to get here to Finland, which will also take a while. So there's still lots of waiting to be done!

Have a nice IHSW, looking forward to seeing the results!

You're making good progress on Middle Earth, and grats on doing your thread spread, lol. Great term, btw. It looks gorgeous. All those blues and aquas are so pretty. Have fun on your SAL with Heli. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Ewa.... LOL!! I read this last night but was too tired to comment. I totally feel your excitement girlie. Don't fondle the silks too much. ;) And do NOT let you drool fall on them. LOL!!!!!!

Thread Spread.... LOVE IT!

Middle Earth is coming along beautifully!

Middle Earth is coming along great. And look at all those beautiful threads!

Jo who can't think of a clever nickname said...

Is your BF English? Because a Thread spread is much more English than "floss toss"! To us floss is what you use on your teeth and toss is a (mildly) rude word!
oo, better tell Joysze that one, I love teaching her English profanities LOL
ps if he says "earf" I'd say he's from London or Essex too!

Wow! That "thread spread" looks absolutely delicious! I think I prefer the term thread spread. Us Aussies call it thread and floss is also what we use on our teeth. LOL! As to "toss", well I'm with nickname on that one too. LOL!

I've been trying to resist starting a Chatelaine but have been oggling Deep Blue Sea. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to resist. (sigh)

Just read that last bit about the posting other people's work. That's nuts! People are too lazy to do their own work and take a picture for progress that they have to go steal yours??! Good thing you added that writing. I should maybe do that too!

God, I have been trying to comment on this post for ages! Some thirty times I guess? I always got an error, that thing said the Word Verification code was wrong....

But now I'll comment, hahaaaa!

I love the colors for Greek Mandala, so beautiful and all the sparkles and beads... I think it's a good idea to stitch such a project with other because the Mandalas are so huge!
Middle Earth is looking fine, too.

I think it's terrible that other people take other peoples work as their own. Thanks for mentioning this, I guess I'll start labeling my pics, too....
