Now on to the subject of this post: IHSW and TUSAL! IHSW first!

Middle Earth from Heaven and Earth Designs
Stitching on 25 count antique white Evenweave
1 thread over 1 with DMC
I didn't make as much progress as I wanted to. I seem to be stitching this piece a lot slower than some of my other ones. Could be the 70-something shades of brown, but I could be wrong ;)
And now, for my first ever TUSAL pic. Being Polish, I naturally keep it in a beer glass. It's not located anywhere exciting, unfortunately - just on my nightstand. But here it is!
Boyfriend has gotten into the habit of putting any blonde hairs he finds on me or him in that cup - specifically for the purpose of driving me crazy, so I have to empty it of hair once in a while. Currently it is hair-free and filled with bits and pieces of Tiny Rose Garden, Mario, Middle Earth and College!
EDIT: Boyfriend wishes his side of the story to be heard regarding this. Apparently he does this because my hair gets everywhere. Including into the mouth of his best friend while they were out on a jog and I was nowhere to be seen. True story.

Haha that sounds like something my DH would do. Middle earth is looking good.
Wow, that looks like so much progress for a weekend, especially since the stitches are all spread out like that. It looks like the level of detail in this will be amazing!
Roflmao at the hair story! Surely he didn't kiss his friend in the mouth in greeting...? Hahaha!!
Whooot whoot on the scroll rod. One step closer. I wouldn't bead, even with the delicas. I presume you like a tight tension when stitching? The beads, as small as they are, leave dents in the fabbie when they're rolled up tight and it would really suck to have those dents in your silks. :S
I bead at the end where I don't need as tight a tension and I put 2 layers of thin batting over the beaded parts before scrolling. Protects everything from delicas to crystals and keeps them upright. :)
Middle Earth looks awesome!! You got so much done.
wow great progress..looking so stunning..
lovely orts xxx
That's such a big project!! It looks like a lot of progress! Good work :)
I use the E-Z Stitch No Baste System to attach my fabrics to scroll rods. You just attach this (http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemdetail.pl?item=123-7441) to the scroll rods and this (http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemdetail.pl?item=123-7452) to the fabric, and you can attach your fabric to the scroll rods without any sewing. I like it, saves time and makes it really easy to switch between projects.
Even though you say you didn't accomplish as much as you would have liked, that still looks like a fair amount of progress to me! :)
Lol about the hair. Mine gets everywhere too.
Good job on Middle Earth-that many browns would drive me crazy :)
Great progress on Middle Earth!
Love your blog and your work :)

Hello:)
That project of yours its not very easy!! It's becoming beautiful;) Keep it up;)**
Lovely stitching and great progress.....Can't wait to see more!!!!
I love Middle Earth because I'm a huge LOTR fan, but I don't think that I'll never be able to stitch somthing with so many shades of just one colour!
As for the hair, mine get everywhere too!!
Hi
Just found your blog.
Your Middle Earth project will be stunning. I never realised there were that many shades of brown.
Your TUSAL glass is great.
Love your "Thread Spread" for your Greek Mandala. The floss colours are beautiful.
Great progress on Middle Earth.
I love your progress...you really did get a lot done. Those BAPs take awhile to see the major progress but it's definitely there so keep it up!
I cracked up at your boyfriend placing your hairs in the ORT glass. My fiance & our son constantly complain that my hair gets everywhere too....my porrs son said he pulled one from his "butt crack" the other day - my hair must've gotten into the clean laundry. Sheesh!
:) great progress
