IHSW Results!

I cheated a little and extended my IHSW until today. But that's because 1. I'm at Boyfriend's and all I do is stitch here (it's GLORIOUS) and 2. I got so close to finishing another page of College on Sunday night that I decided to just keep going. And Holy Crap. I finished it. The difference between the last page and this page is kind of intense. And I'm really really proud of myself. The detail is incredible and it's just so awesome. Without further ado, here goes.

Before:

After:

College of Magical Knowledge by James Christensen from Heaven and Earth Designs
Stitching on 25 count antique white Evenweave
1 thread over 1 with DMC

I learned how to set my camera so that it takes vivid color shots, which is nice. I was going to do the second page of the second row next, but I don't want a line of demarcation to show up in the sky, so I'm going to keep going with the top row to the end. Yay! So exciting!

I hope you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving! We did Thanksgiving 1 at Boyfriend's house today and tomorrow we're doing Thanksgiving 2 at my place. Does not bode well for my waistline, but I'm not gonna complain!

Happy Stitching, everyone, and thank you so much for all the kind comments. I haven't been able to respond to them since I'm at  Boyfriend's and I'm not on the computer as much here, but thank you so much! You're all so very kind. :)

All I can say is WOW!!!! This piece is going to be stunning, the detail is amazing! Henceforth you shall be known as the confetti queen, you are so much braver than me! lol

I avoid confetti at all costs...probably why I can never seem to get anything finished! =)

This is going to be the present of a lifetime when it is done, way to go!

/hugs

Thanks, nikki! I really hope my parents like it. The confetti isn't too bad as long as I grid. I realized how much gridding helped me when I was working on a project I hadn't gridded. Drove me crazy!

some advice: go for the archives thing. You loved it, are good at it, do some research at how to go from here and decide what you want to do when you grow up: cry a lot or enjoy a lot. Archiving is making sure things are kept safe for centuries to come, think only of Family trees, would not be possible whitout archives. Archiving is a very useful job. Secondly, get guiding lines on your fabric of the blue horses, for Petes sake. I use them all the time and it saves from so much frustration, because one row too far to the left or right and you have to undo hundreds of stitches instead of 10. Do not listen to people who think they are childish or amateurish, they will never admit to crying for days on end because they meshed up for two whole pages before they found they could not fix it. Better senseful then stupid, I'say. i have crosssstitched for over 50 years now and I have no time for undoing loads of stitches because I was too proud to use guidelines on my fabric. Makes sense to me. Happy stitching and yes, I do cardmaking too.
